Most basketball collectors know Clyde Drexler's 1986 Fleer rookie card. It is one of the defining basketball cards of the 1980s and the card most often associated with the beginning of Drexler's collecting legacy.

But, personally, my favorite Clyde Drexler card is a small, regional issue card produced during his actual rookie season with the Portland Trail Blazers: the 1983 Trail Blazers Police card.

For more than a decade, I have searched for every copy I could find. These cards don't appear often. And when one surfaces at a reasonable price, I buy it. Over the years, that simple goal has quietly become one of the most enjoyable collecting journeys of my life.

Today, Project 22 includes professionally graded examples alongside well-loved raw cards that have clearly lived their own stories over the past four decades. Together, they represent more than a decade of searching, collecting, and preserving one of the most overlooked cards from Clyde Drexler's career.

This project isn't about building the most valuable collection. It's about preserving the history of a card that deserves to be remembered.
